You may of tasted other rice and peas, you will love our family's grandma's recipe. It is blissfully simple and never disappoints. Cut and prepare the ingredients below and sprinkle and cook with our Minette's Gourmet Dry Marinades.
Rice and Peas
340 g tin of kidney beans
350 grams white rice
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 teaspoon of fresh thyme
Minette's gourmet chicken dry marinade
1/4 cup of coconut cream/block
3 teaspoons of sunflower oil
crushed scotch hot pepper
Dash of allspice
Shallow fry in oil, crushed garlic and onion in a saucepan. Add beans, spices and cold water. Boil and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes and add more water if needed. Sprinkle your desired amount of Minette's chicken dry mariande (taste). When sauce begins to thicken, add and stir in rice (white and brown) and reduce heat. Use a fork to test the rice and taste!
Serve rice and peas with your choice of meat or vegetables.
